Not much in the way of updates this week. I have been working on another application to St Matthews, for Big Local funding. The idea is to try something different, and get out of my comfort zone.
My other projects are taking my focus away from fine art. No problem, if it’s meant to be then new art projects will fall into place.
We are hoping to setup activities for the St Matthews Community during the Summer 2019.
In partnership with, StudionAme and Big Local. I had a meeting on Friday 22.03.2019 with Saima (local artist) to discuss a St Matthews proposal.
These are some of the ideas:
St Matthews Art Talent
The vision is to reach out to the local St Matthews Community to find Arts talent. Prizes will be issued by StudionAme, on an opening night.
Taylor Primary School engagement
Studio tours will be provided to the students between Years 3 and 5. After the tour we hope to follow this up with a small 1 hour workshop.
6 workshop over as many weeks with a 2 hours time slot will be run by Saima.
These brainstorm ideas will need to be refined, no doubt.
I have not posted about my recent activities in a while. So here we are..
1. RA – I made an application to the Royal Academy of Arts, to submit my work for the Summer 2019 exhibition. I got my rejection email a few days ago. Truth be told, I feel a little bit dejected by not being able to branch out, into the London audience. I just need a break, someone or something to give me a platform to showcase my work. We dust off, and move on I suppose.
Anyone got Charles Saatchi’s direct number….
2. I had a meeting with studionAme and St Matthews Big local. We are working on putting up a few workshops for engagement with the local school. The initial application was submitted a few weeks ago. We need to go away, and review the requirements again.
